Messages

The messages people send you through your site's form: where they arrive, how to reply and which email we notify.

When someone fills in the form on your Contact page, the message arrives in Messages and we let you know by email. It's on every plan.

Where they come from#

From the form on the Contact page of your live site. If your site doesn't have that page, Messages doesn't appear in the bar: add it from Pages. You decide what the form asks on the Contact page, Content tab, “Form fields”.

Every message is saved in Messages and also reaches you by email, with the subject “New message from your site — (their name)”, at the address in Settings › Messages from your site. If you haven't set one, at the email you sign in with. The notification arrives in your dashboard's language; what they wrote, exactly as they wrote it. If the form asked for their email, replying to that notification answers them directly.

Calls and WhatsApps don't arrive here: the times someone taps your phone number, your WhatsApp, your email or your booking link are counted in Analytics › “Taps on your site”, and together with the messages they make up the “Contacts” figure on Home.

Replying#

At the top you'll see how many people are waiting for a reply: “3 people are waiting for your reply.” or “All replied to”.

Each message shows the name, the date and time, the page they wrote from, the phone number (tap it to call from your phone) and every answer on the form with its question. Reply by phone or by email, whichever you prefer, and then:

  • “I've replied” — moves it to “Already dealt with”.
  • “It's spam” — also moves it aside to “Already dealt with”.
  • “Back to pending” — brings it back if you made a mistake.

If nothing arrives#

  • “Your site isn't live yet” — the form only works on your live site. Publish it.
  • “Your site has no contact page” — add the Contact page.
  • “Nobody has written to you yet” — everything's fine; check that the notification address in Settings is the one you check, and look in spam for the first emails.

Messages are your customers' data: we store them as your data processor (encargado de tratamiento), with the same care as everything else. See Legal texts and cookies.
