Linktree free plan: what it includes, what it doesn't, and when you need more than a link in bio

A row of identical flat grey tiles on one side of the platform, and on the other a single taller lime block with a small doorway, like a shop that is open.

The Linktree free plan does what it promises: one address in your Instagram bio that leads to several links. For a content creator, that is often enough. For a business with premises, opening hours and customers who ring before they come, it falls short in ways the pricing page doesn't mention. Here is what the free plan includes, what each paid plan costs (we checked their page on 19 October 2026) and when you need something else.

What the Linktree free plan includes

Linktree's Free plan, according to its own pricing page, comes with unlimited basic links and the option to collect email addresses and phone numbers from visitors. The page itself calls it «free with restrictions», and the restrictions show up when you read what each paid plan adds:

  • Basic analytics (how many people visit and what they tap) starts on Starter.
  • Unlimited featured links and a personalised page, also on Starter.
  • Removing the Linktree branding and custom designs, on Pro.

In other words: a list of links with the Linktree logo on it, and no way of knowing whether anyone uses it.

What the paid plans cost

Prices in euros, as shown on linktr.ee/s/pricing on 19 October 2026:

Plan Paid monthly Paid yearly What it adds
Free €0 €0 Basic links, email and phone sign-ups
Starter €6/month €4.50/month Personalised page, featured links, basic analytics
Pro €13/month €10.50/month No Linktree branding, custom designs
Premium €32/month €27.50/month Link rules, all-time analytics, social post scheduling

If what you want is a clean page without someone else's logo, the real price of Linktree is €13 a month, or €126 a year paid upfront.

What no Linktree plan gives you: your own domain

This is the point that matters most for a business and the one least talked about. Linktree does not support custom domains, on any plan. Its help centre says so (updated 12 October 2026): every page lives at linktr.ee/yourname and that part cannot be changed. The only thing on offer, from Starter up, is a «Redirect» that sends people straight to another website — which you would need to have separately.

Why does it matter? If Linktree one day changes its terms, raises prices or closes your account, every printed QR code and every business card you have handed out points to an address you don't control. With your own domain (yourbusiness.com), you can change provider without changing the address.

Linktree alternatives, in two groups

There are dozens of Linktree alternatives. More useful than comparing them one by one is sorting them by what they are:

Another link page

«Link in bio» tools that compete with Linktree on price and templates. If what you do is share content, any of them will do. Before choosing, check their pricing page for whether the free plan carries their branding and whether it supports your own domain. And be a little wary of «best alternatives» lists: they are usually written by one of the competitors.

A business page

A single page that, as well as the links, answers what a customer asks: whether you are open right now, where you are, what it costs and how to book. It is a landing page that answers before anyone asks. If you have premises or serve a local area, this is your group.

First: Instagram already lets you add five links

Plenty of people install Linktree to put more than one link in their bio, yet since 2023 Instagram has allowed up to five links directly on the profile (Edit profile → Links → Add external link), on every type of account. Only the first one shows without tapping, and you set it up from the mobile app.

If all you need is «bookings, WhatsApp and Google Maps», you may not need any tool at all.

When you need more than a link in bio

A link in bio works once the customer has already found you on Instagram. Four signs it has become too small:

  1. People message you to ask your hours or prices. If the answer isn't on the page, the page isn't doing its job.
  2. People look for you on Google, not on Instagram. Someone typing «hairdresser in Gràcia» or «plumber in Sabadell» never reaches your bio. They reach your Google Maps listing, and in its «Website» field a list of links says very little.
  3. You want AI to know about you. ChatGPT and Gemini recommend businesses based on what they can read. A page that is only a list of buttons gives them very little text; it is one of the reasons a business can be invisible to AI even when it shows up on Google.
  4. You care that the address is yours. As we have seen, on Linktree it can't be.

If none of the four applies to you, stick with the Linktree free plan or Instagram's five links. Honestly.

The checklist: your link page, done properly

Whatever you use, a business page should carry this, in this order:

  • Name and what you do, in one line: «Barber in Poblenou, walk-ins on Saturdays».
  • Opening hours, with public holidays kept up to date.
  • A button to book or to message you on WhatsApp, first.
  • Address with a map and how to get there.
  • Services with prices, even if it's «from».
  • Google reviews, or the link to leave one.
  • Social media, at the end.

Once a month, check that every link works and that the hours are this month's, not July's.

Doing it yourself: the full sum

Quick and once. Adding five links on Instagram or opening a free Linktree: five to fifteen minutes. Do it today, whatever you decide about the rest; it is free and it is yours.

Slow, a long weekend. A proper business page, with hours, prices, map, reviews and legal texts, built by hand with a website builder: a weekend if you have never done it. This is where the agency quote or the nephew who will «set it up for you» appears. And your own domain has to be bought and connected separately.

What never ends. Changing the hours in August and for every public holiday, updating prices, checking the booking link still works: half an hour a month that nobody finds. That is why so many pages still show last year's hours.

What we do

wiweb is exactly the page in the second group: a single page made of widgets — opening hours that say whether you are open right now, live Google reviews, services with prices, map, bookings (Booksy, Nubapp and others), Instagram, links and contact. It works as your link in bio and as your business website at the same time.

  • The weekend becomes an afternoon: pick a template, fill in your details and publish. Legal notice, privacy policy and cookie banner are included, on the free plan too.
  • The half hour a month becomes one sentence: to change something, you write it («say I close at three on Friday»), preview it before it goes live and approve it.
  • Free, €0: all of that published at yourbusiness.wiweb.me, with «Made with wiweb» in the footer. No card and no expiry date.
  • Free + domain, €9/month: connect your own domain and remove our branding. Nothing else.
  • Pro, €24/month (or €20/month paid yearly): every week we check how you show up on Google and whether ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini recommend you, and apply the technical fixes automatically; any new text waits for your approval.

You can create your page free and compare the plans on pricing. The honest bit: no page, ours or anyone else's, guarantees you first place on Google. What we can promise is that the address will be yours and the hours will be up to date.

FAQ

Is Linktree free forever?

Yes, Linktree's Free plan has no time limit, but it carries their branding and includes no analytics. Removing the logo costs €13 a month on the Pro plan, or €10.50 a month paid yearly.

Can I use my own domain on Linktree?

No. According to its help centre, no plan supports a custom domain: the address is always linktr.ee/yourname. From Starter you can redirect the page to another website, but you need to have that website separately.

Does Linktree work as my business website?

It works as a list of links. If your customers need to know your hours, prices or where you are, and they look for you on Google, you need a page that says it in text, not just in buttons.

What is the best Linktree alternative?

If you share content, any link-in-bio tool will do; check whether it supports your own domain. If you run a business with customers, look for a page that answers hours, prices, location and bookings, on your own domain.
